Hector's Bio:
Hector is one of the "H" kittens from a beautiful colony in Williamsburg. This Colonyfeeder/carer did a wonderful job with these cats and kittens as can be seen and how friendly they all are.
Hector is a loving brown tabby who loves to be pet and have his belly rubbed. He is very curious and spends a lot of time exploring the room that he is in.
Playtime is usually greeted with medium energy. He seems to like to play but would rather lay down and bat at a wand toy rather than chasing. He will bat around a foam ball and casually go after it. If one of the other cats in the room goes after the ball he just walks away and waits until they are done with it to bat it around again. He loves catnip so any toy filled with it will be well received.
He has not had any exposure to children in his foster situation but would likely be ok with older ones, given his friendly nature. He also has not had any exposure to dogs but with proper introductions would probably be fine. He is sharing his foster space with 2 other cats and he gets along with everyone in the room.
Hector has a good appetite and enjoys both hard and soft food. Although he does like treats, he is more interested in getting a pet than eating treats.Hector will eventually find the treats and eat them, but they are not a motivator for behaviour. He has good litter habits and is very clean.
At this time, Hector is not a cuddler, although he does not seem to mind being picked up. I believe that over time he will become a lap cat and cuddler but right now he is more interested in being petted. He purrs and makes biscuits while being pet but does not stay still. Similarly, he is not sure what to think of being brushed. He would sooner you use your hands to pet him.
Hector does startle easily and will need time to have gradual introduction to multiple people in the home. If strangers come into the room he will run and hide and can not be coaxed out. That being said it only took him 2 days to come out of hiding and demand pets from the primary caregiver when he first arrived in foster care.
He has lots of love to give and would be a wonderful addition to any home.
9 months old; neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, deflead, microchipped
$275
(Kittens must be adopted in pairs unless there is a young, playful cat at home)
