Marty's Bio:
Marty is looking for a patient, gentle soul to bring out her personality! She came to us terrified and wanting nothing to do with humans. After months of patience (as well as brushes, churu treats and the occasional scratch of her handler to enforce her boundaries) she has made tons of progress. She now leaves her hidey-hole to come out and ASK for pets, which is a huge breakthrough! In fact, she's been with us for a year now, so she recently has been able to explore outside her foster room to the whole house. It has done wonders for her. She still doesn’t love being approached, but with patience, she will come to you.
She’s a cat’s cat for sure! She LOVES the resident girls. She is also good with dogs! She shows interest in the dog in foster who isn't a fan of cats but she respects his cues of wanting to be left alone. She'd love to be friends if he'd let her! Marty seems very comfortable and friendly with every animal she’s ever met.
She loves pets, but hates being approached. If cornered, she sometimes swats. But if you are slow and keep your body language non-direct, she flops down and gets totally into the scritches. She loves churus, brushing, and scritches behind the ears with long nails. She is a model litter box citizen. Loves an open, secure window to watch squirrels; she has a strong prey drive! Got a mouse problem? She's your gal. She would not likely enjoy small children. She needs slow movements, gentle voices, soft touches and consistency. She does NOT like being picked up, having her belly touched, sudden movements, or loud noises. She needs a hidey hole where she feels secure (like on a cat tree) another cat to hang around with, and patience to earn her trust. An interactive toy would be good too, because she loves to play but would prefer humans not be around at the time. Do you have what it takes to earn Marty’s love and build up her confidence? She is waiting for her human!
2 years. Spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, deflead, microchipped.
$250 Adoption Fee
