Sylvester is sweet little gentleman who is always dressed in his best tuxedo. Although he is shy and somewhat timid, he will warm up to you quickly if you have a squeeze-up treat. It doesn’t take him long to show his gentle side and he will approach you for pets and scratches. He particularly likes his neck and chin scratched. Once he has approached you for pets it doesn’t take long before he is trilling you and chatting with his little voice. Sylvester does not mind being picked up and placed in a warm lap for more pets and neck scratches. If you listen closely you will hear his soft purr.
When it comes to food, Sylvester will eat any soft food that you place in front of him. He will eat hard food, but really enjoys the soft stuff. He loves treats. Squeeze up treats are his favourite, closely followed by Nibbly Grills. He also likes hard treats. Food or treat time is a great opportunity to pet him and let him know he is loved.
Sylvester will play with a wand toy, but because he can be a little timid, it sometimes takes him time to engage. He will play on his own with every toy that is in the room, including balls, springs and mice. He likes to chase (and be chased by) his roommates.
There are no children in his foster home, but he would likely be fine with respectful, older children.
Sylvester also has not been exposed to dogs in his foster situation. With proper introductions, he would likely do well with a lower energy dog.
This handsome gentleman will do best in a quiet household. He startles very easily, but I suspect this will change over time as he adjusts to his new home. He is in foster with two of his colony mates Sloane and Smokey from the Morrisburg colony. He spends a lot of time with Sloane.
