Sandy & Gery's Bio:
It's hard for us to believe that Sandy and Grey are 8 years old, as they act like kittens!
These cats were initially rescued from a colony in Spencerville in Feb 2019!! The colony was in very rough shape, ear infections, frostbite and rotten mouths. They were all fixed up and adopted out.
GREY: I was returned to the rescue with my bonded colony buddy, Sandy, after 4 years with our owner, who is end of life and couldn’t care for us anymore. We were scared at the rescue because we didn't know what was happening, but we settled in to our foster space quickly. I LOVE people, and sitting and purring on laps at every opportunity, even when my foster is trying to clean out our litter!! I love to ‘talk’ to my fosters, especially when I see them in the morning, when I want a treat, or play a game. I'm a very clean boy and I groom myself a lot. It was so cold outside that I lost parts of my ears to frostbite, and I have short legs and a short tail. I would do best in a home without cats other than Sandy, as I want to chase them and fight and they get scared. When my foster mom tells me ‘no’, I do stop. I let my foster mom do things like trim my nails, clean my ears and pick me up. I love Sandy, and humans, but other cats stress me out. I have SO much love to give to my forever people!
SANDY-Unlike Grey, I didn’t lose my ears to frostbite, but he’s like my big brother, and he probably kept me warm during those cold nights in the colony. The night we were returned to the rescue was very scary for me, but Grey kept me company. I've always been a shy girl but in my foster home, I’m learning to trust people, and am being introduced to new and interesting toys and sounds. My favourite toy is a wand toy, which I love to play with at night. Sometimes my foster mom sees me playing with new and interesting things now, like tissue paper, pens and bits of fabric. I now LOVE being stroked, and I'll throw myself down on the floor or bed to get petted. I now realize how much I was missing when I hid at first, and ask to be petted ALL the time! I don't mind being lifted up and am learning to sit on my foster's lap. I have a very quiet purr and make a special greeting sound when I see my foster mom or my buddy Grey now. I no longer hide when approached, and I've come a long way in trusting people, even strangers, since I've been in foster care. I actively seek attention from my foster parents, and I initiate play with them too! I do look a little different compared to many cats but I know I have lots to offer. I had a dental 4 years ago before being adopted and had another while in care this time, where the rest of my teeth were removed. I can still eat kibble though. I feel so much better now and love treats if Grey doesn't get them first. It will take me a while to get comfortable in a new home, but if you are patient, I’ll show you my true loving and playful side.
8 years. Spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, deflead, microchipped, both have had dentals.
$450 for the pair
